Stripping
Procedures Single Disk Rotary Floor Machine.
Equipment Needed
Personal Protective Equipment, Wet
Floor Signs, Dust Mop, Putty Knife,
2 Mop Buckets with Wringers,
2 Cotton
Mopheads with Handles, Rotary Floor Machine,
Stripping Pads or Stripping
Brushes, Broom & Dust Pan,
Wet Pick-up Vacuum, and Wiping Cloths.

Assemble your equipment. |

2. |
Remove any free-standing objects from the
floor. |
|
3. |
Dust Mop the area. |
|
4. |
Mix chemicals in accordance with label
directions. (Hot water is preferred unless the
label indicates
otherwise). |

5. |
Post wet floor signs |
|
6. |
Liberally apply the stripping solution to
the floor. Work an area no larger than
10' x 10'. Work smaller areas on
problem floors. |
|
7. |
Allow stripping solution to stay on the
floor 7 to 10 minutes or accordance
with label directions before
scrubbing the floor. Do not
allow stripper to dry on the floor. |

8. |
Use a doodlebug or edging tool to strip
close to the baseboards and in corners.
For heavy build-up on baseboards
a baseboard stripper may have to be used.
(Do 3 foot sections at a
time.) |

9. |
Scrub the floor with the floor
scrubber using a black pad. If heavy build-up is
present you may have to
apply more stripper and
scrub again with floor scrubber. |

10. |
Pick up emulsified wax with a wet dry vac
or a mop. |
|
11. |
Rinse the floor with clean water and a
clean mop head. Apply a liberal amount
of water and pick up with a wet
vacuum or mop.
Repeat this procedure until all
stripper residue has been
removed. After the floor has dried check to see if there
is any residue
on your hand. If there is residue on your hand, you must rinse until
no
residue appears on you hand and there is no foam in
the rinse water. A
film neutralizer can be used to help remove stripper residue. |

Clean up your equipment. and do not remove
wet floor signs until floor is completely dry. |
Stripping
Procedures Autoscrubber.
(Warning do not put
stripping solution in Autoscrubber)
Equipment needed
Personal Protective
Equipment, Wet Floor Signs, Dust Mop, Putty Knife,
2 Mop Buckets with Wringers,
2 Cotton Mopheads with
Handles, Moss Floor Squeegee, Edging Tool, Autoscrubber,
Stripping Pads or Stripping Brushes, Broom & Dust Pan and Wiping Cloths.

Follow steps 1-8 for a single rotary floor
machine. |

9. |
Make sure black stripping pads are attached
to the autoscrubber. Make a pass over the
stripping solution with the
vacuum off, squeegee up and pads down. |

10. |
Use a hand-held moss floor squeegee to pull
the stripping solution away from the
corners and other hard-to-reach
surfaces. |
|
11. |
With the vacuum on, squeegee and
brushes/pads down, make a
second past over the floor.
If the floor has
excessive build-up, repeat steps 9-11. |

12. |
Make a third pass with the brushes/pads
down, vacuum off, squeegee up and solution valve
wide open dispensing
clean water. |

13. |
Lower the squeegee, turn on the vacuum and
pick up the rinse water.
Make sure you are using clean pads. |
|
14. |
Use a clean mop to pick up any trails
that the autoscrubber may have left behind. |
|
15. |
Check dry floor with your hand to see that
all the stripping residue has been removed.
If there is residue on
your
hand you must rinse again. |

Clean your equipment. |
