Dust and Damp Mopping
Equipment Needed - Wet Floor Signs, Dust Mop, Clean Mop with Handle,
Mop Bucket with Wringer, Broom & Dust Pan, Putty Knife,
and Wet Pick-up Vacuum (optional).

1. Assemble your equipment.
2. Remove any free-standing objects. Vacuum the walk-off mats and set aside.
3. Dust mop the entire floor. Remove any gum or other debris that may be stuck to the floor with the putty knife. Caution: Do not gouge the floor with the putty knife.
4. Post Wet Floor signs. More than one sign should be posted.
The signs must indicate the area is wet
.
5. Mix cleaners according to label directions with cool water. Hot water will soften the finish and may cause discoloration. Wear protective gloves and goggles when mixing cleaners. Always add cleaning concentrate after bucket is filled with water.
6. Damp Mopping/Light Soils: Dip the mophead into the cleaning solution and wring out. Apply in an overlapping figure eight mopping pattern. Allow to dry.
Proceed to steps 10 and 11.
7. Wet Mopping/Heavy Soils: Dip the mophead into the cleaning solution and lightly tamp in wringer. Apply in an overlapping figure-eight mopping pattern. With heavy soil be sure to get into corners and along edges. Change the cleaning solution when it becomes heavily soiled.
8. Allow the cleaning solution to remain on the floor for 5 minutes then pick up with mophead or wet vacuum.
9. Rising will be necessary in heavily soiled areas. Use a clean mophead and clean water. Apply the
rinse water and pick up with a mop or wet vacuum.
Change the rinse water as it becomes soiled.
Allow floor to dry.
10. Thoroughly rinse out your mopheads, buckets and wringers and return them
to their appropriate place.
11. Remove wet floor signs after the floor has thoroughly dried.

Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the floor. For difficult areas, work in smaller areas.
7. For heavy build-up allow the cleaning solution to stay on the floor for 5 minutes.
8. For low to medium soil loads place a red scrubbing pad on the swing machine.
Make two to three passes over each area with the floor machine.
9. For heavily soiled floors place a blue or green scrubbing pad on the swing machine.
Make several passes over each area with the floor machine.
10. Pick up slurry with a wet pick-up vacuum or with a mop.
11. Rinse the floor with clean water and a clean mophead.

2 Mop Buckets with Wringers, 2 cotton or blend Mopheads with Handles,
Floor Squeegee, Autoscrubber, Red, Green or Blue Scrubbing Pads, Dust Pan, and Broom

1-5 Follow steps 1 thru 5 for Dust and Damp Mopping

7. Heavy Soil or Damaged Finish: (Prior to recoating or restoring) - Make one pass over the area with solution valve open and pads (green or blue) down with squeegee up and vacuum off.
8. Heavy Soil or Damaged Finish - Make a second pass with the vacuum on, squeegee and pads lowered and the solution valve open.
9. Clean your equipment and return it to the appropriate area.
Do not remove wet floor signs until the floor has dried.

Tip: The floor may now be buffed, burnished, restored or recoated. Before spray buffing perform routine maintenance procedures as described in dust and damp mopping or top scrubbing sections. The floor must be free of gross soils before spray buffing to insure that the dirt is not "buffed" into the finish.

Standard Speed Spray Buffing
Equipment Needed - Wet Floor Signs, Dust Mop, Labeled Sprayed Bottles,
Single Disk Rotary Floor Machine, and Red Buffing Pads.

1. Assemble your equipment.
2. Attach a red buffing pad to your buffer.
3. Apply spray buff in a fine mist with a labeled spray bottle. Do not overuse the product. Applying more spray buff than necessary will result in hazing.
4. Make three passes over the spray buff. Turn your pad over or switch to a clean pad as the pad begins to collect particles and dried spray buff solution.
5. Clean equipment and return it to its appropriate place.
6. Dust mop the floor and remove wet floor signs after the floor has thoroughly dried.

High Speed Spray Buffing.
Equipment Needed - Wet Floor Signs, Labeled Spray Bottles,
High Speed Floor Machine, High Speed Buffing Pads, and Dust Mop.

1. Assemble your equipment
2. Attach the appropriate buffing pad to your buffer.
3. Apply spray buff in a fine mist with a labeled spray bottle. Do not overuse the product. Applying more spray buff than necessary will result in hazing.
4. Make one pass slowly over the spray buff. Turn your pads over or switch to a clean pad as the pad begins to collect dried buffing solution and particles.
5. Always dust mop your floors after spray buffing or dry buffing.
6. Clean equipment and return it to it's appropriate place.
7. Remove wet floor signs after the floor has thoroughly dried.

UHS Burnishing
Burnishing should be performed only after top scrubbing with a autoscrubber.
Failure to autoscrub will result in discoloration and increase the need for stripping operations.
Equipment Needed - Wet Floor Signs, Labeled Spray Bottles,
High Speed Floor Machine, High Speed Buffing Pads, and Dust Mop.

1. Assemble your equipment
2. Attach the appropriate burnishing pad to the burnisher. Additional burnishing pads must be on hand. Post wet floor signs.
3. Make a steady pass over the floor. Do not allow the burnisher to stand idle while it's running. If maintainer is being applied the spray should be applied in a fine mist with a spray attachment.
4. Change the pad on the burnisher as necessary
5. After the entire area has been burnished the floor must be dust mopped.
6. Clean your equipment and return it to it's appropriate location.
7. Remove Wet Floor Signs after the floor has completely dried and after dust mopping.

Restoring Procedures
Equipment Needed
Wet Floor Signs, Mop Bucket and Wringer, Clean Rayon or Finish Mophead,
and Plastic Trash Liner.
Prior to restoring all dust, debris or other soils must be removed with an appropriate maintenance procedure. Failure to do so will increase the need to strip.

1. Assemble your equipment
2. Post Wet Floor signs. There should be more than one sign posted. The signs must indicate which areas are being restored.
3. Line the mop bucket with a plastic trash liner to avoid contamination. Dilute Restorer 1 part to 4 parts water.
4. Dip presoaked rayon or finish mop into bucket and tamp in the wringer. Do not wring out the mophead.
5. Outline the area to be restored. It is not necessary to go to the baseboards. Fill in the outlined area
with a overlapping figure-eight mopping pattern.
6. Allow the coat to dry. Normally this takes 30-45 minutes.
7. Burnish the restored area with a high speed burnisher and the appropriate pad.
8. Always dust mop after burnishing.
9. Thoroughly clean the mophead, bucket and wringer. Remove the wet floor signs after burnishing.

Tip: Do not throw unused finish back into container. This will only contaminate the finish or restorer in the container that has not been used.
