Vacuuming Procedures
To prevent soil from entering your building one the first lines of defense is to remove
soil from outside of the building. It is easier to remove 1 pound of soil outside the
building than inside. Clean floor mats will help keep
soil from tracking throughout your facility.

1. Assemble your equipment
2. Use recommended personal protective equipment
3. Remove large debris from carpet.
4. Vacuum carpet thoroughly (Refer to manufactures recommended procedures.
Tips:
a. This is the most important task in carpet care.
b. 85% of soil is vacuumable.
c. Perform on a daily basis
d. Empty or replace dust bag frequently
e. Check brushes and belts every week and replace if badly worn.


Spot Removal
Equipment Needed - White Cloths, Trigger Spray Bottle, Extractor with hand tool,
                               Blunt Scraper, Soft Brush, Wet Floor Signs and Spotting Guide.

1. Assemble your equipment
2. Use recommended personal protective equipment.
3. Remove large debris from carpet
4. Identify the spot.
Noting the appearance, location, color, size, shape, feel and smell can help determine the spots substance.
5. Select the proper spotter's.
Always pretest in a inconspicuous area to ensure colorfastness or fiber damage.
6. Apply spotter to the outside edges working towards the center. Do not over wet.
7. Immediately tamp with a soft brush or agitate with a blunt scraper.
8. Allow spotter to remain on carpet according to the label use directions.
9. Blot affected area with a clean white absorbent cloth. Rinse with water and blot again or extract affected area with a hand tool to rinse.
10. If spot has not been completely removed, repeat steps 6-9 or use alternative spotter. Refer to Spotting Guide.
Spotting Tips.
a. Always test cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area of carpet for possible fiber damage or dye color changes.
b. Always rinse to avoid leaving a residue. Residues lead to re-soiling.
c. For aged spots, spray and let dwell longer for better removal.
d. Avoid excessive rubbing as it may cause unsightly distortion of carpet fibers.
e. Avoid spreading of spots by always working form the outside in toward the center of the treated area.
f. Avoid over wetting.
g. Use caution when working with flammable solvents.
h. Follow appropriate safety precautions when using spotting chemicals.
